Manufacturing

The manufacturing module in Microsoft Dynamics GP is a robust, flexible solution for small and medium sized companies.

Companies often start out using spread sheets to capture manufacturing costs. However, as production volumes increase, it becomes increasingly difficult to track costs. It is very easy to lose control of manufacturing costs under these conditions.

Main Features
  • Use the bill of materials (BOM) feature to track the raw material quantities needed to produce each finished product
  • Create more than one BOM per finished product. Keep a primary BOM and use the others to track the costs of using substitute raw materials. Use the primary BOM or a substitute BOM in production runs.
  • Use routings to track labour and machine costs
  • Track the actual costs used in a production run or backflush costs to use estimated costs
  • Track work in progress for each production run
  • Use standard costs or actual costs for raw materials
  • Track the cost of work done by sub-contractors
  • Create adhoc reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
