Like other ISV products, Retail POS integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics GP. It is possible to use an independent POS solution and import transactions into Microsoft Dynamics GP. Companies with industry specific requirements may want to do this. However, there are real advantages to running the entire purchasing, inventory and sales functions on a single platform.

For example, a company may take orders from wholesale customers through its customer service department. It may also sell products to retail customers through its branch network. A single platform will allow both sets of staff to share the same inventory, receivables and purchasing information.

Item quantities, customer credit limits, goods received notes, outstanding purchase orders etc. can all be checked in real time from a single source anywhere in the organization.
